Intermediate Stage

Welcome to our Intermediate Stage information section.

Modderfontein Academy's Intermediate Phase consists of pupils from Grade 4 to Grade 6 and is headed by our expert staff specifically trained and experienced in dealing with children in this age phase.  The curricullum and activities offered are appropriate and apealling to this age group on many levels and designed to prepare them for the next phase and their pre-teen years.

 In this phase, more technical and academic skills are introduced as they start building on their existing foundation. ​We teach them how to use their previous knowledge to learn new concepts and encourage them to work independently and further develop their skills. They are however still reliant on the teacher and parents to teach, instruct and help them.

To this end, our qualified teachers are able to provide individual attention to each student because we have small class groups. They also provide support and guidance - unique to each student's needs - in order to see them flourish and reach their full potential.

Intermediate Stage Fee Structure

Fee Structure Notes:

  • A once off non-refundable enrolment fee of R4500 is payable on acceptance (new enrolments only). 
  • An annual levy of R3 300 (R1 100 payable per term). 
  • An annual Curriculum fee of R6750 will be charged separately. 
  • Annual school fees to be paid monthly in advance over 12 months from 1 January to 1 December 2022. 
  • A full term’s notice in writing is required should you decide to take your child out of the Academy. 
  • A 5% discount will apply for annual tuition fees paid in full before 10 January 2022. 

Monthly fees include:

  • Tuition from Monday to Friday.
  • Curriculum Physical Education, Art and Cultural activities.
  • An online structured workplan (Blended British International and CAPS curriculum - Stages 1 – 6).
  • Wi-Fi for educational platforms.

Monthly fees exclude:

  • Laptops / iPads which are required for all stages from 1 – 6.
  • Insurance of all electronic equipment.
  • Textbooks, workbooks and stationery.
  • Speech and Therapy sessions.
